New Day for Children was founded in 2009 in response to the escalating crisis of child sex trafficking in the San Francisco Bay Area and the glaring absence of long-term, trauma-informed care for young survivors.

Determined to change that reality, Jon Blankmeyer and a group of committed friends took action. They came alongside what would become New Day’s first restorative care partner program, helping provide a safe haven where exploited children could begin their journey of healing.

Today, New Day for Children is uniting the largest network of trauma-informed residential partner programs designed specifically for child survivors of sex trafficking in the United States. This network creates access to critical care for children who would otherwise face significant financial barriers that prevent them from accessing the safety and healing they need. Entirely privately funded, New Day removes those barriers by covering the cost of safe housing, trauma-informed therapy, education, and life skills development. New Day also comes alongside its partner programs by providing resources, training, and ongoing support to strengthen the care each child receives, ensuring every child has the opportunity to rebuild their life.

As this national network continues to grow, so does the opportunity to reach and restore more young lives - one child at a time.
